today is yesterday, tomorrow.

There is no story around this picture as it speaks for itself, nice winter weather and -4°C in the air. The view is from the parking place at Kyrkhamnsvägen towards lake Mälaren.

inside the shelter

A frosty bench at the commuter train station. We're underneath a rain shelter on the platform. As you can tell from the photo, it doesn't help much against snow on a windy night.

unit of life

Ever wondered what it's like inside a cell? Just follow the tiles and find out at University station with the help of artist Françoise Schein.

the cool gang by Lötsjön (2)

This bird was far from alone. Ornithologists near and far will have to assist me now but I'd go out on a limb and call these fellows Canada Geese. Right?

nocturne for Södertälje

Not every shopping street appears unique and fascinating. But in a cold gust of afternoon wind, there is at least one good reason to step inside one of those warm shops and restaurants. Södertälje at dusk.

glögg in Sundbyberg

Here's a warm tradition. Mulled wine is known as glögg in Sweden. At Gröna stugan ("the Green Cottage") in Sundbyberg you can have your Christmas drink in a non-alcoholic version.

mark my words

Frost crystals on a window in Rotebro commuter train station. Vandals have carved marks in the window glass and now ice crystals are populating those "tracks". Strange!

come closer and look

These big windows have several richly decorated sets with childrens toys. Many of the animals are moving and do attract lots of people every year. Right now it's kind of late in the evening, so most people (except me?) are already at home

the cool gang by Lötsjön

Our winged friends are looking at many, many cold nights before the end of another winter. Keeping those feathers in mint condition is a matter of survival. Standing on one leg sometimes helps too!

accessibility in Rotebro

We've been celebrating elevators in the subway recently. Here's one at a commuter train station.

Not much daylight at this time of year. The swimming complex in Sollentuna aims to let it all in. Here's the glassy roof.

kringlan

In a Pretzel City, what could be more natural than having a mall called Kringlan ("the Pretzel")?

Time for a parting shot from Storkyrkan. The altar appears a bit dark and gloomy, if you ask me.

Let's visit the pool again. I don't recall seeing (much less playing with) floating stuff like this in the old days. Being a kid today must be fun!

puddle of joy

Water puddles were immensely fun when I was a kid. Nowadays I restrict myself to admiring a bit of reflected sunlight and leave the actual puddle exploration to others.

säby kyrka

The Church of Sweden (Svenska kyrkan) has its own flag. The crown symbolizes the crown of Christ (and not somebody else's crown) so there's no need to change the flag just because the separation between Church and State is now a fact.

the Rindö connection (2)

Sometimes in life we need to choose the right ferry. One of these has been docked for the weekend. The other will depart in half an hour. When in doubt, check out where all the cars are lining up. That's the one - the next Rindö connection.

time for reflection

I'm not quite done yet, with Drottningholm Castle. This nice reflection in the window caught my eye. Someone is enjoying the (last?) rays of sun.
