A brig is a two-masted ship with both masts carrying square sails. Here's the brig Tre Kronor ("Three Crowns") at Skeppsholmen. This is a new vessel, constructed in the 1990's with support from a 4000 member brig society.

It must be something in the air, I posted a picture of a brigantine just the other day.
I love the colours on this one.
Thanks Kris. I've enjoyed the opportunities to take several late night strolls through town recently. Stay tuned for more from those.
Huh. I've always thought of a 'brig' as a holding cell of sorts.
As in:
What shall we do with the drunken sailor?
What shall we do with the drunken sailor?
What shall we do with the drunken sailor
Ear-ly in the morning?
Put him in the brig until he's sober...
...Ear-ly in the morning!
As with Kris--I love the colors on these night photos.
