Here is a look down the side street where the roadworks were.
It has so many fascinating elements and begs so many questions I don't know where to begin.
The street appears to end at an archway that looks like the entrance to a tunnel. At the side of there is an extremely steep set of stairs which nonetheless seem to be well used.

Looks like the walking tunnel through the Brunkeberg ridge. It's interesting on the inside as well.
