The King's Street (2)
Imagine Kungsgatan without those cars. All the history and a pleasant environment as well. Well, just dreaming.

nice boat
For a few days the Pelorus visited Stockholm. I couldn't resist to have a look. After all it's said to be the 11th largest yacht in the world, and how many times do you have a chance to see something like that in Stockholm? It's impressive. Here a shot from an elevated spot
and here from behind. Not your average boat I'd say....and by the way, it's the same "thing" that Per showed us a glimpse of yesterday on Pixels. There's more to come.

meanwhile - elsewhere
....at the cemetery it's time to contemplate - a little to late perhaps ? The northern cemetery is filled with things like this one. Lots of stuff to find. Go there, those of you who can. While you can still leave once you're satisfied.....

bergshamra kyrka (2)
Architect Georg Varhelyis had an unusual vision for Bergshamra Church: a place for inner peace, without distractions. Behold a church without any artwork.

Springtime Stockholm, part 4 (5)
On springdays like these Stockholmers can be resembled to a lemming migration when they in hoards head out to one of Stockholm's major waterholes at Djurgården. Namely Rosendals Gardens.
Not only can you have something delicious to eat at the well-renowned café - but be there early since the place tends to get really crowded on sunny days - you can pick your own flowers, buy something nice in the lovely stocked shop, even attend different classes and lectures in gardening, cooking, baking and herbs. The place is also available for rent to private parties.
Whether you chose to have a coffee and cake indoors in the greenhouse, outdoors in the designated eating area or go picnic style on the vast stretching lawns, the place is very much worth a visit. And even if you can be pretty sure you're not the only one heading there it's also usually possible to create your own little oasis in midst of it all. Breath in, breath out, relax.

Side Street
Here is a look down the side street where the roadworks were.
It has so many fascinating elements and begs so many questions I don't know where to begin.
The street appears to end at an archway that looks like the entrance to a tunnel. At the side of there is an extremely steep set of stairs which nonetheless seem to be well used.

Roadworks
Apologies for the quality since this was taken through a coach window.
These roadworks were on one of Stockholm's main thoroughfares. Someone is stepping over newly-laid tarmac. The sidestreet is blocked off. What puzzles me is the three sets of tyre-walls. Are they makeshift rubbish-bins or what?

Springtime Stockholm, part 3 (5)
Some people are fortunate enough to be able to enjoy this spectacular view from a veranda of their own whenever they find the time.
Others, perhaps less fortunate in the veranda perspective of Stockholm, might still have a stroke of luck being invited to coffee in the garden below the veranda. A place which offers an almost as spectacular view as the perspective from above.

Springtime Stockholm, part 2 (5)
Now is the month of May and I think one can safely assume (hope, touch wood) that there will be no more need of wool scarves and caps this season. That is, if your not a dutiful lamp post standing guard at the busy pedestrian street part of Götgatan.
Someone cared and adorned this lamp post with a pretty warming overgarment. This particular lamp post can be found not far away from the Iceman/Tulipman.

restingplace
Some live in big houses while they're alive, and some will not have it any other way in death either. These must be two of the larger ones at the Northern cemetery. There will be more from this place over the next few weeks. Both here and on Pixels.
