Yes, believe it or not. Once upon a time it was actually called "hetvägg", which translated ends up in "hot wall". Today nobody calls them that. It's a "semla" plain and simple.
And what's a "semla" you might wonder ? Just follow the link. These four just happened to fit into our stomachs this morning. Two each for Per and Bernt. The rest of the team were elsewhere. Ähum... I think we forgot to invite them :-)

Ah, the last festive food before Lent. I read the Wikipedia article you linked to. Too bad Ikea doesn't have it on their menu, or do they? I don't know what to say about the gluttony that sent King Frederick off the edge in 1771... 14 servings?!?!?!
You know what they say. You may eat everything - in decent measures. 14 servings may have been one or two too many :D
